Aloe Vera is a green spiky leafed plant I associate with lazy days in far away climes, but it also has undisputed health benefits. Inside those prickly yet squidgy leaves is the aloe vera gel that’s used as a base for so many products these days, from skincare to drinks, but why is it so good for you?
For a start it’s 100% natural and can grow freely under the right conditions. It has antioxidant properties, so it fights against those nasty’s we let into our body such as alcohol, infections, or toxins. It’s also antibacterial, so it fights off bad bacteria & its anti-inflammatory, so it reduces inflammation such as pain or swelling, basically its an all-round good guy of the plant world.
You can see then why I was so pleased to be able to try out Forever Living’s range of Aloe Vera based products. Forever Living is the largest grower and manufacturer of aloe vera and aloe vera based products in the world. Using Barbadensis Millerone, one of the best varieties of the four hundred types grown all over the world, it is hand tended and hand filleted to ensure it produces a top-quality product. In fact, Forever Living is so confident of the quality it will provide a sixty-day money-back guarantee if you are not entirely satisfied.
One of their original products is the Aloe moisturising Lotion. Containing Collagen & Elastin this moisturising cream helps to improve the elasticity of skin, whilst providing protection from wind and rain. The lotion comes in a simply branded white and purple tube, and is great value at £14.89 for a large 118ml tube. It can be used anywhere on the body, including your face and hands and makes a great base for foundation. Elsewhere make sure it’s rubbed in completely, for a foundation based just leave a little on the surface. It is thick, but not overly so, and both smooth and creamy. I found it went into my skin well and left no greasy residue. Although it contains additional natural ingredients such as apricot kernel oil, jojoba and vitamin E which helps to further soften skin and enhance skin tone, the lotion remains both vegetarian friendly and Gluten free. Aloe Moisturizing Lotion was also awarded the EXCELLENT rating in dermatological tests carried out by Dermatest, so you won’t have any concerns in using or giving this product to vegetarians or those with mild skin conditions, it’s a gift that is suitable for all skin types. I spend a lot of time outside and I found it worked really well on dry, chapped skin and in particular my son’s eczema which always gets worse in the winter months. It immediately soothed the irritation and stopped it being red & sore.
Forever Living’s Aloe Moisturising lotion is the perfect gift, especially for gardeners or those who work outside. It’s a premium feeling moisturising lotion at a non-premium price. My only negative point is that the tube itself doesn’t look very premium for a gift its just a bit plain, but you could always find a little gift box to pop it in, otherwise I would highly recommend it.
