Starring: Clive Dunn, Edward Hardwicke and Priscilla Morgan
My Old Man is a sitcom set in Bradford, West Yorkshire in the 1970’s. Sam Cobbett (Clive Dunn, Dad’s Army), a pensioner, is living with his daughter, Doris (Priscilla Morgan) and her husband Arthur (Edward Hardwicke) in their high rise flat.
This DVD contains all 6 episodes of series 2 of this dated but still funny comedy. The main character is Sam and is about his escapades and the problems it causes his family. He is a charming old pensioner but likes to do things in his own way sometimes with disastrous effects.
He is constantly causing problems with everything he does including bringing home a pigeon even though Arthur has a terrible fear of birds, refusing to admit his eyesight is getting worse and causing problems by not getting his glasses replaced, bringing everybody from the paperboy to a French Onion seller into the flat, arranging a wedding, a disastrous fishing trip and his attempt to get out of a darts match.
Although rather dated it is still quite funny and very enjoyable. Clive Dunn plays his part brilliantly and if you liked him in Dad’s Army you will like him in this.
