Footwear + Gear Cleaner, a powerful, yet bluesign® approved, spray-on cleaner, formulated to remove all dirt and grime and odours from all footwear and gear – meaning it’s good for your backpacks too, useful!

Footwear Repel Plus is Footwear + Gear cleaner’s right-hand man.  This spray-on proofer is a new addition to the Grangers range, replacing Footwear Repel.  It offers enhanced durability and added conditioning, meaning it’s suitable for a range of footwear, including Suede, Nubuck, Leather and Fabric.  It’s rather useful that this one product looks after them all meaning there is just one product needed rather than a range of half used and forgotten bottles in a cupboard.

Footwear Brush is the ideal footwear-cleaning tool and a great first step before cleaning your footwear.  This wooden-handled brush has tough bristles which means it’ll remove any dried-on dirt (no matter how tough) and all without impairing performance.  Its pointed end is also great for cleaning treads and other hard-to-reach places.

Odour Eliminator is a powerful, yet gentle, pump action formulation, meaning that it tackles odours at their source rather than masking them with perfumes.  It is also kind to breathable membranes and water-repellent finishes at the same time with a lingering clean and fresh smell.

So, with this handy kit covering all your footwear care needs, you can plan where your feet will take you next!

Delivery & Packaging
The items are contained in one display cardboard box, packaged neatly and efficiently.  This was inside wrapping for postage.  Arriving in good condition with recyclable packaging, it is exactly what it says on the box, a “Footwear care kit”.
The bottles are 100% recycled bottles and widely recyclable when empty.

The website has a wide selection of clothing, footwear, equipment, and some bulk buy eco pouch offers too, so it is worth having a proper look around if you are thinking of a purchase.

Ease of use
Each product has easy to follow simple instructions printed onto the side.  In short this is essentially, spray on – then either wipe or brush off or leave to try.  Just twist the nozzle and spray, and you’re good to go.  There is no complicated prep or multi step approach, which is appealing.

Quality, look and feel
With each bottle holding 275ml this feels a decent size to expect and easy to store.  The items look like a practical product, and the words and images printed on the front make it clear what each can be used for.  No having to read any small print to ensure it is the right product for the occasion.

The use by date is 2025, so there is about a 3 year shelf life.  I would imagine that as an active person if you buy and use these products as intended it would be unlikely there will be any left to go out of date.  If using as a family I would imagine you’d get a solid walking season out of a box.

Pricing & value
Price wise and value for money I’d say it’s bang on, compared to other products on the market.  With a name you can trust and an established history then if a few quid more than other products I would choose this knowing I could rely on the results to clean and protect my footwear and kit. Given we can spend so much on kit it makes sense to go for protection you can trust.

My personal views
I would imagine keen walkers, campers, hikers, explorers as well as those with simply a nifty range of footwear or active family would find this kit appealing and useful.

I would recommend this as a one stop starter pack, or one pack does all you need kind of purchase.  It might make a very useful gift for someone who is particularly active or perhaps embarking on their first Duke of Edinburgh adventure.

I liked the fact that the products could be used on my rucksack as well as my walking boots yet were also suitable for my suede footwear and trainers.

One thing that annoys me is when purchasing footwear, I am always informed by the shop assistant of the latest product I need to protect my new purchase.  Having these items at home would reassure me I do not need to continue to purchase a product for each item in the future.
