With Christmas rapidly approaching and so many toys on the market it can be hard to choose, whether it is for your own child or as a gift for a friend or family member, but the Toot Toot drivers construction site’ playset is a fantastic gift idea for little ones.  I tested the playset with the help of a young relative who was super excited as we opened the box together and she couldn’t wait to help me set up the pieces.  The set comes in a large box and feels like a substantial toy, which would make an impressive gift to be left under the tree by Santa, ready for Christmas morning, I can already picture the excitement that would come from getting to open such a big box!  On the first opening, there looks like a lot of pieces but they all click together to build the construction site with its towers and tracks and it was really easy to assemble as the parts are nice and chunky, perfect for little hands!  I was impressed at the quality of the playset and how durable it felt, which is essential in a toy designed for the pre-school age group, there is nothing worse that a toy that breaks quickly leaving the child upset and the parent frustrated.

The playset is marketed for children aged 1-5 years, so this is a toy that will last the test of time and you can be assured you will get your monies worth from it.  With its bright and engaging colours and so many fun noises, this is a toy that would appeal to boys and girls alike.

The playset comes with one Toot Toot vehicle, a cute dumper truck which can be loaded with one of the rocks and carry it around the site to its destination.  There are lots of sounds and songs and the playset also has six SmartPoint locations (which is a point where a Toot Toot vehicle passing a point on the track triggers a set phrase or sound).  My young helper loved the fact this was a noisy toy and would dance and hum along with the tunes.  She was fascinated when the noises and tunes would play spontaneously as the little dumper moved around.  From a practical perspective, there is an auto turn off if play has stopped for a period of time, hopefully helping to conserve batteries!

There is so much to do in this playset, it kept us busy for hours.  There are gates to be opened and closed, lifts to be raised and lowered, rocks to be loaded and things to be moved in the crane basket and it’s a really exciting playset as the little dumper truck whizzes around down the spiral ramps much to the enjoyment of my helper.

Although the toy is fun and engaging, also encourages development of motor skills with handles and levers to be controlled, and of course the Toot Toot dumper truck to be driven around the track which younger children will love.  As they grows, there are opportunities for imaginative play and role play activities with this playset and definitely singing along with the songs and dancing too (in our case at least).

Another great feature is that if you have other ‘Toot Toot driver’ sets, they will connect together, allowing your child to expand their Toot Toot world even further with endless options.
