Clean Co Clean G Pink Review

I have tried many non alcoholic drinks before and have often found them very disappointing – too artificial tasting or too sweet or nothing like what they are meant to represent, so I am always on the lookout for a drink that tastes exactly like my favourite cocktails but without the alcohol! I was therefore really excited to get the opportunity to try Clean G Pink – the pink gin alternative from Clean Co.

Firstly I love the packaging. It is a really smart (pink!) glass bottle which oozes sophistication and certainly looks just as good as other top quality gin bottles. I also like that it came with some recipe cards with different non alcoholic cocktail ideas on them which I am eager to try in the future.

When I opened the bottle I found that the smell of Clean G Pink is exactly like other pink gins I have had but it did seem to have a slight sweetness to it. Since the bottle says it is sugar free and only has 14 calories per 50 ml serve I was intrigued to taste it.

On the back of the bottle it says the perfect pour is 50ml over ice, with tonic water, a wedge of lemon and fresh mint so that is exactly how I tried it. It was delicious! I honestly don’t think you can taste that it isn’t alcoholic – to the point that I needed to check the bottle to confirm that it definitely said non-alcoholic on it (it does)! Sometimes a non alcoholic drink can taste nice for the first few sips and then it starts tasting strange but this didn’t happen with Clean G Pink. It tasted delicious right until the end of the glass – which is when I poured myself another one as I didn’t have to worry about getting drunk!

Clean Co is a brand founded by Spencer Matthews which focuses on “clean drinking to enhance all lifestyles”. He found that alcohol had become too big a part of his life and decided that he wanted people to be able to have more choice, when choosing a drink, without having to compromise on taste. At the moment there are 5 other drinks in the Clean G brand – a normal gin alternative, a whisky alternative, a rhubarb gin alternative, a rum alternative and a tequila alternative. All of them are priced at £16 and if the rest are like the Pink gin then I plan on buying the lot! I feel the Clean G Pink is a really good price for the taste and quality you get and also when comparing it with other similar products.

If you enjoy gin then this is a must have for your drinks cabinet. Whether you are planning on doing a dry month or you know you need to drive somewhere or you just don’t want a hangover then this is the perfect option for you. It still tastes delicious but without the alcohol!
