Vision Express first opened a store thirty years ago in Gateshead. Today they now have over 550 stores across the UK and Ireland. A lot of things have changed over the years, but their number one goal has stayed the same. To provide customers with the very best service, tailor made to suit your needs within friendly and welcoming surroundings.
Although they very much remain a distinct brand, in 1997 Vision Express became part of leading international optical retail group GrandVision NV. Operating over 7000 stores in 44 countries across the globe, GrandVision has more than 37,000 employees.
GrandVision’s commitment to their long-term support allows them to invest not only in their business and people, but the very latest optical testing technology. The latest example of this is the introduction of optical coherence tomography (OCT) in an increasing number of their stores. Adding a whole new dimension to eye testing OCT imaging can detect the very early signs of retinal eye conditions and diseases, as well as wider health issues.
Vision express has over 2000 glasses and 90+ brands to choose from. The Day by Day prescription glasses frames are exclusively available from Vision Express.
The DbyD brand joined forces with the renowned Italian manufacturer Mazzucchelli, a world leader in the production of acetate sheets. It is recognised for its high quality acetate: brilliant colour, superior resistance and lightness.
Mazzucchelli developed a new eco-responsible thermoplastic material, called M49: an ecological formula produced from pulverised flakes mixed with solvents and plasticisers to create a material that is filtered then made into a transparent paste. This is then hand blended with coloured organic powders and acetone that is then fed through rollers to create different thicknesses. Acetate is biodegradable in 115 days, phthalate free and recyclable.
The DbyD range in BIO acetate is made up of contemporary style models, in a palette of scales with warm tones and shapes ranging from round to elegant squares.
I was super excited to have been chosen to review the DbyD frames, I have been wearing glasses now for over forty years and love to own more than one pair, at the end of the day we accessorise with jewellery so why not with glasses too.
The frames I received to trial are super stylish, rounded shaped frames in lovely brown tones, because they have been made out of durable acetate they are really lightweight, the flexible arms ensure a comfortable fit, and they have a fixed bridge which is my go to style frame due to knowing if you happen to knock them the bridge will not need readjusting and they don’t seem to leave marks on your nose like the adjustable bridge style.
They are not only available to buy in-store but also online. I never realised that your glasses sizing can be found imprinted on the arm of your glasses, Which comes in very useful when ordering online as you will find along with the glasses descriptions a display of the glasses frame sizing such as bridge width, arm length, lens diameter, lens height.
All of vision express glasses include single vision, scratch resistant lenses as standard, along with a cleaning cloth and case to store them in.
Not only do they sell glasses, they also sell sunglasses, contact lenses and eye care products and accessories in store and online. Along with free delivery, a 100 day returns guarantee and free lifetime servicing.
If you don’t know what to get the special person in your life for valentines or for any other special occasion then I highly recommend vision express not only for the array of frames they have to offer and a style for every occasion but also for the fantastic service that you receive.
