Defacto Regular Fit Short Sleeve T-shirt & Tulle Mini Skirt Set – Pink Review

Well firstly this item description really doesn’t do this outfit justice. It’s absolutely gorgeous and every little girls dream! Its sparkly, is covered in sequins and comes with a cute little mini tulle tutu – I wish they did them in adult sizes!

This perfect little party outfit will compete any little girl’s wardrobe. This outfit comes in two parts; a tee-shirt shaped top which is waist length and a separate tulle skirt.

The tee shirt shaped top is a delicate pink colour, covered in sequins front and back (which is lovely to see as disappointingly often the back of some of these sequin tops appear plain). The sequin layer is a net material making it soft and flexible. The top isn’t a tight fitting and allows lots of movement – perfect for dancing. Although it is only waist length it doesn’t rise too much when my friend’s daughter stretches, so it’s not revealing whilst jumping and moving around.

The neckline and cuffs are binded in a similar colour material, so it doesn’t feel scratchy on delicate skin. The round neck is fastened at the back with a single button.

Under the net sequin layer there is another plain layer in pink, the same material and colour as the binding. The lining is attached under the arm holes and on the shoulder seams.

The second part of this outfit is a totally adorable tutu mini skirt.

The skirt is created from the same material as the top. The bottom layer of the skirt is the same as the binding, a soft pink solid material. The top two layers are the net/tulle fabric, stiffer net layers which when gathered on the elastic waist band makes these layers stick out. The waist band is a wide elastic, again in the same colour as the pink material – soft and comfortable. Note the waist is not adjustable.

Overall, I think this is a really very beautiful two piece set. It’s well made and feels very good quality. The fitting is again excellent and would make any child feel like a sparkly princess or ballerina. It would make a lovely party outfit, Christmas outfit – in fact any special occasion; or would be fantastic teamed with sparkly wellies at a festival in the summer!

 My only criticism on this review item would be that this comes as a set, yet the skirt sent is 6/7 years and the top is 5/6 years. This may just be a packing error, but has highlighted the need to double check upon receipt.
