Just to start, according to my friend’s little girl this is the epitome of cool! If that doesn’t sum up this item, I’m not sure what will!
We were fortunate to review a selection of Defacto children’s clothing and this very trendy jacket was part of the girl’s range – although in all honesty, my son had his eye on this as part of a festival outfit; and in fairness it would be perfectly in keeping with a children’s festival such as Camp Bestival or a spacey one such as Blue Dot.
This super shiny, silver raincoat will brighten up any dull day. The jacket is made from a Polyester shell fabric making it extremely light weight but shower proof – perfect for pushing into a ruck sack on a day out or in the evening will transform a normal casual outfit into something more special. The perfect addition to a party outfit or Christmas wardrobe.
The raincoat has a chunky black hardwearing zip fastening right up the front to the neckline – perfect for little but not so delicate hands. The cuffs of the jacket are elasticated to keep the wind out, as is the bottom of the jacket. This makes the jacket not only extremely practical but also makes it look a little more cool / casual, so works well teamed with something like jeans.
In regard to fitting, the body and arm length is perfect. It doesn’t ride up at the back and due to the elastic around the bottom, the garment stays in place. I was pleased to discover the depth of the hood was good too – often with lighter rain coats I find the hoods only reach the child forehead, which kind of defeats the object, but this jacket was perfect. In fact is covers all of the forehead so no wet fringes!
I would totally recommend this jacket and my friends daughter was delighted to add this to her wardrobe. It’s lightweight, trendy, as well as being practical and will certainly brighten any rainy day!
