After having my three children, I would swear by Lansinoh lanolin nipple cream, I would use it for everything including my lips. After they had finished feeding I still used the lanolin for my lips until it ran out. I didn’t want to buy a huge tube of nipple cream just for my lips so stopped using it, however now they have brought out this new lanolin lip care! I am hooked.

It is made from 100% lanolin. Lanolin comes from the wool of sheep. It is an oily, waxy substance which the sheep use to keep themselves dry and protected from the environment. It is fantastic for skincare because it locks that moisture into your skin! When moving inside and outside during colder weather, weather and heating units can cause lips to become sore and dry. Lanolin is safe and gentle, it doesn’t sting at all and provides a protective layer over your lips. The whole family can use it.

The cardboard box packaging is bright purple, so it’s easily spotted on the shelf. It has all of the information you need. Inside, the little 7g plastic tube, is the perfect size for your pocket or bag. It is more than safe for little ones to use, I used it on all three of my children and the screw off top is easy enough for them to open should I decide to purchase them for school in the winter.

The top of the tube is smooth and slanted to make application much easier. It can be a little hard to squeeze the tube though, but once warmed a little the lip balm moves a little easier. Tip – warm the tube up a little before squeezing. The perfect amount comes out every time and the ingredients are 100% natural.

The lip balm is thick and very moisturising, it has no smell and fine for sensitive skin. It is non drying so you can apply as much as you like, several times, whenever you need it. It is recommended for chapped or cracked lips too where many brands aren’t. This is because lanolin is safe for broken skin and will not sting (which made it perfect for nipple cream too). So you don’t have to worry about it hurting when you put it on.

The website is a wealth of information, including the journey of founder Resheda Hagen and how she formed the brand around breastfeeding mothers. There are parenting tips, many different products tailored to the journey of parenthood.

I give this lip balm 5 out of 5 stars. I really loved it and the feeling of protection and confidence it gave me leaving the house in the cold weather, although the tube was a little hard for me to squeeze unless warmed up, my daughter, who suffers from a muscle wasting condition, couldn’t squeeze it out at all so maybe this could be addressed in the future.

It would be the perfect gift for any new parent, lips are often forgotten about in dry hospital rooms or at home when time to look after yourself is scarce. I’d have loved one of these after I had had my three. They are also a great size for stockings and would make a lovely practical Christmas gift.
