It’s quite safe to say that my husband has always had a bit of an obsession with buying new shoes so he was delighted when I was offered a pair of Hey Dude men’s Paul shoes for him to review. As he already has a pair of this make of shoes in his extensive collection, he is aware of just how comfortable they are to wear. He is diabetic with extra sensitive feet and he’s discovered that he struggles to find comfortable, affordable shoes which also look fashionable and trendy. Hey Dude shoes tick all the right boxes as they are super easy to wear as well as looking stylish. When my husband tried on the shoes, he remarked on how light they were and that they were a perfect fit.
The shoes came packaged in a fully recyclable cardboard box, which is so important now that we are all aware of how much damage we are doing to the world with all our tons of waste. Printed on one side of the box was a shoe sizing guide, which I thought was such a good idea. You just place your foot in the box and find out your correct size, without having to go to a shop to be measured up.
The Hey Dude shoes which my husband received are the Paul style in a size 9 and are made from water-resistant recycled leather. They have an attractive sand coloured upper with a contrasting brown heel cup and grey padded wool ankle cuff. The easy-on elastic lace system allows him to easily slip on the shoes without having to fiddle about with having to tie the laces. The Griptight sole, together with the water-resistant finish ensures that these shoes are suitable for all four seasons and all types of weather, so he will still be wearing them in the sunshine or in the rain. The leather lined memory foam insoles with antibacterial properties can be removed to ensure freshness, as there’s nothing worse than having sweaty feet. In fact, the shoes can be chucked in the washing machine over and over again and still come out looking pristine. They are extremely light weight and flexible.
My husband is quite elderly (he’ll XXX (editor’s note – word edited to XXX by editor) me when he sees this), but he still likes to dress quite ‘young’. He lives in denim jeans, casual pants and knee length summer shorts and likes to coordinate his fashion style with good looking shoes. The Hey Dude Paul shoes are perfect for him as he feels it is imperative to look as stylish as he possibly can without making a compromise to comfort.
Hey Dude is an extremely environmentally friendly brand, which is really important in our household. Their ethos is to reuse and to be as sustainable as possible. Their shoes are designed to be washed over and over again, thus making the need to purchase a new pair less necessary. The shoes can be traded in for a discount and recycled so making less pairs for landfill. Both my husband and myself have worn many different types of shoes and until recently haven’t really considered the damage to the environment by sending all this throw away fashion to landfill. Now we tend to think twice before we purchase items of clothing which we don’t need and we usually try to send our used items to charity. The Hey Dude brand fits in with our lifestyle of trying to be that little bit more aware of our environment.
My husband has stated that Hey Dude shoes are the most comfortable, practical shoes he has ever worn, and importantly they look extremely stylish too. I’m convinced that these shoes will last him for years, in fact he’s still wearing the original pair which he’s now had for over a year and which still look great. I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone, young or old, who cares about their environment, wants to look stylish and needs a good quality comfortable pair of shoes. With a recommended retail price of £65.00, these are super value for an extremely well-made pair of shoes.
