So like many families over the past year with the numerous lockdowns and homeschooling, we may have over indulged in too many takeaways, rubbish food and the odd drink or two! But now with things opening back up, and the reality of coming out of our elasticated waistbands and back into normal clothes, we have decided as a family that we need to get fit and healthy.
Our wallets wont stretch to the 3 of us joining a gym, so we decided the best idea was to get some decent home gym equipment that we could all use. My husband really wanted a kettlebell, as he had read that they are great for strength training and toning and also for working the joints. But he wanted one that would not be too heavy for me and our son to use, so when we came across this set of 4 kettlebells, these seemed like the perfect purchase.
The kettlebell set consists of four kettle bells weighing 2 kg (4.4lbs), 4 kg (8.8lbs). 6 kg (13.2lbs) and 8 kg (17.6lbs). The kettle bells are colour-coded for ease of use and have nice thick moulded handles, which provide you with a good steady grip. Also they all have an anti-slip base.
What I love most about this set, is that it suitable for all the family to use. Our 10-year-old wants to join in and get fit and healthy, and the 2 kg kettle bell is perfect for him. I’m happy with 4 kg kettlebell, knowing I can work towards being able to use the 6 kg kettlebell. And most importantly, my husband is happy with the heaviest one at 8 kg. Having the set of 4, also means we can all work out together and follow the exercises as a family. Instead of having to take it in turns. This set also comes with a poster of kettlebell exercises, including warm up and cool down exercises. This has been extremely useful and informative as sometimes you buy the exercise equipment but you’re not actually sure what to do with it once you get it home. Following the pictures on the poster has been a great help.
As well as the kettle bells, I wanted to get myself a decent workout/yoga mat. This was important to me, as we have wooden flooring so not at all suitable to do exercises on. I got the Leviato Mat with carry straps in lime green and it’s fabulous. It’s 6 mm in thickness, and generously sized (183x61xcm). And it doesn’t move once on the floor. I know they all say they are anti-slip but this one actually doesn’t slide on our wooden floor. Its also wipeable, so can be easily cleaned for other members of the family to use. Great little piece of kit to add to our home gym.

I would really recommend these items if you are looking for good quality home fitness equipment at reasonable prices. They are really worth investing in.
