This is the perfect gift for those that love chocolate!  Given that Father’s Day 2020 was smaller affair due to Covid restrictions this ‘Cake Smash’ is the perfect way to celebrate in style in 2021. Instead of a traditional sponge cake, this cake smash is great for a whole family of chocoholics with confectionary for every age.

The cake was delivered in a large heavy-duty box with fragile stickers to ensure the contents was kept in perfect condition for us. The packaging was great, full of bubble wrap to protect the contents from getting broken as it is a fairly delicate item to post. It was very exciting for us to unwrap; we could hear all the chocolate rolling around inside.
The box contained a business card which described that the cakes are all handmade ‘not on a conveyor belt’ with instructions on ‘How to look after your Smash’ and other products available. The card also had promotional photographs of other products that the company produce.

Inside the cake was wrapped in clear cellophane so you could see it and it was very presentable with a ribbon tied on.
When we removed the packaging, it looked very professionally finished, like a perfectly iced and decorated traditional cake. The chocolates on top were of high quality, with a range of confectionary to suit the whole family including smaller pieces such as Maltesers, colourful peanut M&M’s, Celebrations, Reese’s Buttercups and a full-sized Yorkie bar. You are able to personalise the chocolates included in the decoration to meet the dietary requirements and preferences of your family. The cake was finished with a beautifully handwritten message of Happy Father’s Day in calligraphy text in a cream-coloured icing.

It was a very exciting prospect to ‘smash’ the cake instead of cutting, it could be a great surprise for father’s and their children and make for a fantastic centre point of any party! It’s also a lovely opportunity for a father and child to make a mess and smash up the cake. The instructions suggest using a wooden spoon or mallet to ‘smash it’. The chocolate is fairly robust so takes some strong children to crack through. Once the cake has been opened out rolls lots of chocolates which is incredible to watch. Again, the chocolate inside includes a range of chocolate to suit the needs of the family including chocolate buttons, Maltesers and Smarties. The outer shell of the cake is made from cream Belgian chocolate and is delicious!

At this point there is so much chocolate available it is great! There is enough to feed approximately 4-6 people and perfect for those who prefer something other than a traditional sponge cake. Other occasions recommended for a ‘Cake Smash’ are birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s day, Easter and Christmas.

If you don’t want to eat it straight away the cake can be stored untouched for up to six months if stored in a dark, cool place and has a recommended retail price of this cake is £34.99.
