I had no hesitation when I was asked to review one of the latest Forever Living products. I really do love the philosophy behind Forever Living products and I love any products with Aloe Vera in. Such a soothing ingredient in any skin product.

I have used Forever Living moisturisers and face washes before and love how they apply. I also love the natural ingredients they include and this product is no exception: as well as the key hyaluronic acids and aloe vera, the serum includes soft shea butter, camellia leaf extract and mimosa bark, all of which are calming and restorative in nature intended to reduce the chance of premature ageing or loss of collagen.

Forever Living launched their aloe vera based hydrating serum last summer claiming to improve elasticity and create visibly plump skin. It combines 4 types of hyaluronic acid which is supposed to hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, therefore increasing the water retained on the skin from the inside and adding moisture to the outside of your skin. The use of the word acid may put some people off, but the substance is naturally produced by our bodies and so is not something to shy away from. However, our natural level of hyaluronic acid decreases with age, hence why older faces are often more sunken and less plump. Hyaluronic acid serums seem to be the current go to beauty product and I would have to agree.

I have been using it for the last two weeks. I put it on after I have cleansed and toned my skin in the morning, but before I moisturise and I LOVE IT! You are told to use just 1-2 pumps, which does not look enough to cover the whole of your face and neck, but this cream is so light and has incredible coverage such that it easily spreads across my face and neck. It feels natural and does not feel like you are plastering your face with product.

I simply pat the cream between my two palms and then pat it onto various parts of my face. I then massage it on with my fingers in circles, concentrating on those areas where I have lines (and on my face they are plenty!). On my neck I have been taught before to use upward motions when putting cream on your neck, so I have been doing that on my neck too and, as I say, it applies really well. Within seconds of putting the cream on the cream is absorbed into the skin and my skin feels silky smooth and soft.

As a lady in my late 40s nearing that time of my life, I have lots of deep lines on my forehead, around my mouth and eyes. I can honestly say that I feel as though those lines have improved since using this cream and that my face is visibly smoother. My face generally feels softer and smoother and does actually feel more plump. I have not changed any other elements of my “beauty” regime and so I do believe these benefits are from using the hydrating serum.

It isn’t a cheap product (at £34 for 50ml), but nor are many of the similar serums on the market. Using just 1-2 pumps a day means that this bottle will last a long time and I would say it is worth every penny. This is the sort of product that would appear on my birthday or Mothers’ Day list as a treat that would then last until I next needed treating!

The packaging is classy, but one thing to watch is the lid – just make sure that you slip the lid off. I would try to twist the lid off and it sometimes brought the whole pump off! But it is easily turned back on, so not a problem at all.
