When I was chosen for this review I browsed through Cewe’s website and saw that they do a large variety of prints, canvases, photo enlargements and they even print on to wood, aluminium and foam.
Although I have to confess that I’d not heard of them or come across them before, I noted that they are award winning as, ‘Europe’s leading photo printing company’, which reassured me that they must be a well respected company. They also offer a promise that if you aren’t 100% happy then they will help and they offer 24/7 support. There’s even a chat box on their website.
I opted to upload a photo of my children, when they were smaller and cuter than they are now. I’m also limited with images where they are all smiling nicely together! Uploading the photo was straightforward and easy and you can then drag the picture in to the correct position if the image size is different to the canvas size, which mine was. The website lets you know the quality of the image for them to transfer to the canvas. They also offer a software download to be able to edit photos before submitting and offer their 24/7 support line to assist with using this to enable it to be accessible to the less IT competent.
Once I’d uploaded the image, I placed my order and was impressed that they stated the canvas would be with me between set dates. I was even more impressed when it arrived on the first day of the stated timeframe, so quicker than I’d expected, as that was only a week after ordering.
The canvas arrived in a plastic bag inside a thick cardboard package that protected it well. It also came with a little package of wooden pieces, screws and metal pieces with instructions that informed me these were to add tension to the canvas if needed.
My only slight criticism is that the stapling on the back of the canvas looks quite rough with puckering of the canvas material. However, this has no effect on the front at all, which is perfect. The colours are bright and the quality of the print is great.
Cewe do a variety of different options with photos, including calendars, advent calendars, jigsaws, mugs, playing cards, phone cases, a variety of cards and more. In these strange times it’s nice to be able to do everything online, have it delivered straight to your door and to have a choice of gift options for family and friends.
I like that the products are manufactured in the UK. That’s a bonus for me, particularly in current times, as using them helps keep someone in the UK in work rather than someone from abroad. It also means less travel miles for the item to be delivered to me, which is better for the environment than something being shipped in from abroad.
All in all, the concept and the final product met my expectations and I am pleased with my item. Watch out family, I have some ideas for gifts this year and plenty of pictures of my little monsters to choose from…
I give it 5/5
