Tesco Musical Lantern Tin with Mini Cookies Review

Reviewed by Sarah Bowyer
I was chosen for a review of Tesco Christmas food items and I received a box of biscuits.
This is a wind up, musical Christmas box of biscuits that I would probably give as a gift or take to a party as a little thank you.
The box is designed as a silver Christmas lantern which you can wind up and it plays Joy to the World – very fast!
However, the box that I was given didn’t play music to start with because it wouldn’t wind up. After a bit of tinkering, banging and messing with it, it finally started working.
Inside is a piece of cardboard decoration hiding around 50 mini dark choc chip cookies packaged in 3 plastic bags.
The cookies are bite sized which is dangerous because when I opened a bag, I found myself just nibbling on them.
The cookies are delicious. They are crumbly, chocolatey and very morish and go really well with a cup of tea.
Once you have eaten all the biscuits the tin can then be used as a lantern if you use a battery powered tea light.
I like the idea of this box of biscuits, but because it is designed as a lantern there are holes in the tin which means there is nowhere to keep the cookies once you have opened them (not that they lasted that long with my two children around).
I think it makes a nice gift for someone and the little cookies are really delicious.
I would give this box of biscuits a 3 out of 5 because although the cookies are delicious, the tin isn’t very practical and initially mine didn’t work.
