An absolute cracker of a fun filled family night out!

A spangley sequin-fest giving non-stop laugh a minute entertainment.

I thoroughly enjoyed this festive pantomime performance of Aladdin as did the entire theatre; cram packed with giggling girls, laughing grandmas, boisterous boys, and everyone in between. The audience threw themselves into participating with well-timed banter, big bellowing shouts and encouraging jeers, all well received by a fantastic cast who enjoyed delivering it as much as we loved watching. Many panto goers were obviously old hands returning year after year for a guaranteed fun night out, some had even come prepared with water pistols for the second half watery shenanigans.

What a cast! Bouncy, smiley glitzy and high energy throughout – faultless too, even the “bloopers” were done with finesse! The vocals were top notch and spine tinglingly powerful (namely Danny Colligan starring as Aladdin), the performers rapport apparent and the effects such as the flying carpet were amazing!

A good value for money show with lots of popular music to get the crowd involved and the most fabulous of costumes – especially Widow Twankey played by La Voix.

Effortless back flipping delivered by Joel Ekperigin as Genie of the Lamp and of course the main star of the show was the crowds favourite Wishee Washee played by the charismatic Andy Collins.

Familiar faces such as Michelle Collins formally of Eastenders as well as experienced highly trained stage actors, the cast were a greatly talented bunch and gelled well together. Who doesn’t love a panto? Full of slapstick humour, innuendo and silliness and littered with local references and jokes.

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre is a lovely space with very well kept facilities and a modern yet traditional feel to it. there were plenty of professional looking staff milling about, friendly and easily identifiable from their badges. The bar offered a good selection of hot and cold beverages as well as snacks and the delicious local beechdean ice creams!

Seasonal sparkly carpet flying, lamp rubbing fun!
