I recently received a sand art picture from Kids Be Happy and my just turned 4 year old loved it!

In the envelope was an A5 and A4 picture ready to be covered in sand. Sounds very messy but surprisingly it wasn’t at all. We got a tray out (we ended up using a baking tray) and got started. I was impressed at the range of colours, 10 brightly coloured sand pens which my daughter loved too. Peeling each section of picture off was very easy and the adjoining piece didn’t rip or get disturbed. We had to pierce each pen to get a good flow of sand but that was no trouble at all. I was quite surprised that the once a sectioned was filled, the next lot of sand didn’t mix in with that section meaning each bit was as bright as the original sand pen. The finished picture was a lovely brightly coloured, textured piece of work.

Once it was finished it was really handy to have the plastic wallet and hook to display it. Once we’d finished my daughter asked to get some more which is a sure sign of a fun activity.

Depending on the price, the A5 pictures would be a great alternative to party bags. They would also be great stocking fillers.

In summary this is a great rainy day activity, a surprisingly non-messy way to get your child involved in some art activities.

Rating: 5/5 thumbs_up

Picture prices from £2.50 and sand art pens £3.
