Food and Drink

Frankie & Benny’s Aintree Review

On arrival, the restaurant looks impressive with plenty of parking spaces out front and some decent Al Fresco dining space. Inside the restaurant was spacious, airy and clean and we were greeted by friendly staff and quickly shown to our table.

We were given the menus and our drinks orders were taken quickly by a friendly and helpful waiter, Duncan. We were here to try out the new menu, and really excited to see such big changes but with some of the tasty classics still there.

The restaurant was fairly busy for mid-week and the atmosphere was really lovely. One of the things I like best about this place is the open kitchen at the back of the restaurant, there is something really great about being able to watch where your food gets prepped and cooked!

The new menu was impressive and there seemed to be something for everyone. It had a really modern edge without being too pretentious and offered something different for the local area I think. The children’s menu was equally good with a different option for my older child (age 11) which was a welcome touch.

Drinks were served quickly and we were left in peace to enjoy the restaurants atmosphere. It is a brilliant place for both couples and families alike, the decor is lovely and the background music was to tappingly good!

Our food arrived within 15 minutes and it all looked and smelt delicious. I liked the way some of the presentation has also changed – nice touches such as burgers served on wooden boards with the fries in a funky bag served on the side – quirky!

The SALTIMBOCCA CHICKEN served with spaghetti and a Neapolitan tomato sauce and green beans was delicious!! It was something different and gave that all important taste bud satisfaction. It was a tasty and very filling meal! The rest of the family had a classic Brooklyn Burger which I am told was cooked to perfection and had some really good flavours. The side of coleslaw was especially tasty too! The kids chose hot dog and fries and the chicken wrappers from the kid’s menus. Both were really impressed with their meals and the amount of food on their plates was great!

The table was cleared swiftly and we chatted to our waiter, who was attentive, friendly and not over bearing, which was lovely. More drinks were ordered and served with a smile!

On to desert… salted caramel cheesecake and ice cream was heavenly! I am told the chocolate brownies and ice cream was the best he ever tasted and the cinnamon waffle crunch arrived warm, smelling amazing and tasting even better! My youngest opted for the cleverly constructed Candy Shop ice cream cart – always a hit.

Over all our evening at Frankie & Benny’s Aintree was lovely. It is an excellent new menu with lots of exciting new choices to try. It is all reasonable priced with great service and a lovely atmosphere. It was lovely to meet Adrian the area manager too – pats on the back all round tonight thank you!
