My partner Steve and I recently visited Supper Tub in Hackney, London. It is a fantastic concept which takes the social aspect of breakfast club or supper club and mixes it with great canal side views, amazing food and service and that all important fun in the hot tub.

Set up at the back of funky No 90 Bar and a very short walk away from Hackney Wick overground station in Zone 2, the venue is easily accessible by public transport. Upon approaching the bar, we were greeted by an enthusiastic and friendly member of staff and taken to the back of bar where there is a huge outdoor patio overlooking the canal. They have set up 3 large hot tubs and each fits 8 to 10 people comfortably. As we were waiting for our towels we were offered a refreshing welcome drink of pisco sour and shown where the changing rooms and showers are. We noticed the people in the tub having a lot of fun and could not wait to get in ourselves. They insisted on us taking a shower before entering the tub, which was reassuring.

The service which extends to serving you the food and drinks to your tub is unfaultable. The delicious food served at the tub is from their bite size Peruvian inspired menu, which is served on skewers to minimise on mess. We had beef, prawns, ceviche and chocolate strawberries to name a few, and both Steve and I loved every single dish that was produced form that little hut at the end of the patio area. The views of canal from the hot tub add to the experience and so does the music from the bar and other people in the hot tub itself. We were in the tub for about 2 hours and could have easily spent a couple of more hours there.

Whether you want to try something really innovative with a group of friends or go by yourself and make some friends, this truly is a very unique and fun way of doing so. We enjoyed our time at the Supper Tub so much that we have already booked a tub for Steve’s birthday to go and splash about with some friends this weekend!
