Play At Brewers Fayre Dalesway Keighley Review

Reviewed by Ruth Thomas

When I invited my sister to join me to visit Brewers Fayre Dalesway her initial reaction was that it was a little run-down the last time they had visited and was hoping it had been revamped. We arrived with 2 very excited (nearly) 5 year olds who were eager to take their shoes off before we’d even got out of the car.

There is a large free car park and we found the front of house staff very welcoming.

The indoor play area has been refurbished and my sister who was initially reluctant to visit was impressed and is looking forward to going back very soon. It was bright and clean, and we were able to see the girls at all times. There is comfy seating for the adults and a coffee bar so you don’t have to leave the area to go and get refreshments. Although the play zones are advertised as unsupervised there were plenty of smartly dressed, friendly staff on hand to keep an eye on the children.

The play area is themed around The Beano and there was a special visit from Dennis & Gnasher which the majority of the children enjoyed, however there were a few who were a little frightened of Dennis and had to be taken out of the room.

The girls loved having their faces painted although I’m not sure whether this is a service that is offered all the time.

The outdoor area was also clean, safe and secure with lots of seating for adults.

Kids parties are available at just £7.99 per child with free cake for bookings of 8 or more. There was a little boy’s party happening whilst we were there and all the children seemed to be having a good time.

There is a good selection of food choices and when our pre-booked meals arrived they were as expected, the chocolate fudge cake was huge and delicious! Kids meals are £3.99, 2 courses for £4.49 or 3 courses for £4.99 with choices including The Menace Burger, Popin’ Chicken, Pizza and Sausage & Mash. We opted for unlimited refill soft drinks which are £2.50. If I had not have been driving I would certainly have enjoyed a glass of wine from £1.89 for 125ml glass!

The only negative is that the toilet facilities (albeit clean) were small with no children’s sinks and the water from the tap was very hot with no sign to warn you.

My sister who is local to the area will certainly be back.

Rating: 4.5/5
