Elvis lives! We saw him live on stage at the Grove Theatre in Dunstable, Bedfordshire and what a fantastic show!

Elvis fans were there en-mass waiting to take their seats with their Elvis bags, Elvis jackets & Elvis t-shirts! There was even a mini Elvis sporting white suit and cape!

The theatre was packed, ‘Elvis’ otherwise known as Lee Memphis King came on stage with his guitar. In his opening number ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ he was Elvis! He dressed like Elvis, moved like Elvis and sounded like Elvis! He was amazing!

He sang song after song, starting with the 1950 rock and roll years, telling us a little about Elvis’s in between numbers. The second half of the show covered his television ’68 Come Back Special’ and his legendary  Las Vegas performances between 1972 & 1977.

Photographs and clips of Elvis were projected onto an on stage screen throughout the show.

Lee Memphis King was accompanied by his band which consisted of five talented musicians/backing singers and two female singers. They all appeared to share a very close bond.

I am not a devoted Elvis fan, but even I could sing along to Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes, Jailhouse Rock etc with the rest of them. He even sang some of the more ‘obscure’ Elvis numbers to the delight of the audience. They were dancing in the aisles! The show closed to a standing ovation and on stage fireworks!

A truly remarkable Elvis! Well worth seeing at a theatre near you during the tour!
