My husband, 2 children and I have just returned from a lovely day out at Woburn Safari Park. We were pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see and do. The park is 360 acres in size, and it was lovely to see so much space for the animals to roam around in.

As you drive up to the park towards the paying lanes, you cannot help but admire the beautiful surroundings, and the wild deer roaming around. The queues were fairly short, seeing as we were there at the weekend. And we were promptly handed our tickets and a map by a friendly member of staff.

As we set off onto the Road Safari, we were delighted to see such a good selection of wild animals. Everywhere was very well sign posted and there were Park Rangers sitting in various locations of the park. As we slowly made our way through, we saw tigers, giraffes, wolves, rhinos, zebras, bears and much much more! The circuit of the drive-through took about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Our favourite part had to be at the end in the monkey enclosure. The monkeys were very funny, they were sitting on top of cars, swinging on wing mirrors, jumping from car to car and generally being very cheeky. They were hilarious.

We were delighted to see so much to do once we had parked up and walked towards the Foot Safari.

There were demonstration talks at the animal encounters throughout the day. We managed to get to watch most of them. The cheery staff were very knowledgeable and were happy to answer any questions.

Our favourite part at the Foot Safari had to be the Elephant Meadow Meet and Greet. We watched a fantastic demonstration, and after got to stroke an elephant as it walked past us. None of us had ever done this before. It was fab!

There was a lovely Swan Lake with peddle boats for public use, all free of charge. These could fit up to 5 people. Each boat could be taken out on the lake for around 10 minutes. My children thought these were great fun!

The Rainbow Landing was a favourite too. It was a bird sanctuary. You could buy pots of nectar liquid, 2 for £1 on your way in. Once inside, the birds would land on your hand to drink the liquid. There where birds coming from all angles, it was great fun.

The restaurants were very nice, there was lots of choice of food and drink and they were very reasonably priced too! The staff were quick to serve. There were plenty of tables and chairs inside, and also seating areas outside.

As we walked round we also got to see penguins, sealions, lemurs, otters, and then kangaroos and emus in the Australian Walkabout.

There were several play areas for children of all ages to use. They did get a bit crowded but were not off putting.

Toilets and baby changing facilities in were found in several places around the park, and we were pleased to see they were clean and tidy. They were also easy to find if you needed to wash your hands after handling the animals.

Overall we had a brilliant day, I would say it was great value for money and we will mostly definitely be returning in the near future.
