Spy Kids At St Ermin's – And Half-Term 'Budding Bonds' Package
The newly transformed St Ermin's Hotel in St James's Park, London is trading on strong espionage links with it's new children's pack including a book of codes and code writing plus a secret agent's aptitude test rewarded with a non-alcoholic cocktail, shaken not stirred, in the famous Caxton Bar.
Each child at check-in receives a free Secret Agent pack containing confidential information on the hotel's links to MI6 and the role it played in the infamous 'Cambridge Five' Burgess and Maclean affair. A book of codes and code writing tips helps the budding agent develop spy skills whilst a series of searching questions – do you know where the official entrance to Buckingham Palace is or whose nose is carved in stone on Admiralty Arch – will test their observational skills.
The hotel was used by both MI6 and the SOE (forerunner of the current special forces units) during WWII whilst the Caxton Bar was one of the meeting places for double agents Burgess and Maclean when passing secrets to the Russian secret service. Churchill is also known to have used the Caxton Bar during the war after his speeches at the Caxton Hall next door whilst rumours of a secret tunnel from the hotel to the Houses of Parliament are difficult to disprove.
Half-Term Family 'Budding Bonds' Package
