Magic City by Michael Dean Review

Reviewed by Louisa Nashir
Magic City by Michael Dean follows Jewish man Marcus Himmelfahrt and his life in 1970’s Germany.
Marcus is a troubled man who is impotent and has no idea what the future holds for him.
He finds a teaching job in a place called Ludwigsburg and uses the move to start a new life. Unfortunately his new life leads him into trouble and he soon finds himself on the wrong side of the law and his landlord.
Will things ever improve or will Marcus stay stuck in his misery?
A worthwhile read with plenty of laugh out loud moments.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will definitely recommend it to others.
