This item arrived in a surprisingly small branded box for the size of the product. The blanket hoodie was in a vacuum sealed bag inside. There was nothing else in the box or the bag, although the item itself is fairly self explanatory so I’m not sure what else they could have included. It had a satisfying expansion as soon as I pulled a small hole in the plastic that started to let the air in. Sometimes when things have been vacuum packed they come out smelling a bit chemically, so I was pleasantly surprised that this didn’t. As it came out of such a small bag, I initially thought that the item might be quite small or the material might be quite thin and flimsy. It is neither. It feels quite lightweight, funnily enough about the same thickness as a blanket, but is also warm and snuggly. It is 300gsm sherpa (in case that means more to you than it does me to help identify the thickness!!)
The colour is an amazing Cadbury’s chocolate purple and the material is super soft. I went for the larger size because I’m tall and I’m really pleased that it’s got sleeves that are plenty long enough and the length is nearly to my knees, meaning I can tuck my legs up when sat down and just snuggle into it. The sleeves also have cuffs on, meaning that they’d be fine for people with shorter arms too. The body of the item is huge, but that will also be of benefit when snuggling down on the sofa and hiding myself inside it. There are two pockets on the front to hide your hands in to keep them warm (or potentially to transport snacks discreetly between the kitchen and lounge…). The hood is a lovely addition, although I’m not sure I’ll really utilise it, unless I get especially cold.
Amazon currently has these on sale, with 10% off for Prime members. The grey one is cheapest, starting from just £17.99. There are 11 different colours available, including 2 funky, patterned ones; one with mushrooms and the other with sharks on.
As the weather starts to get colder, with the rapidly rising fuel costs (again!), I can see this becoming a staple item to wear around the house to try to avoid turning the heating on for as long as possible. I’m not quite sure I can get away with wearing it in full when working from home, but could definitely use it as a blanket for my legs under my desk.
Bedsure are currently celebrating their particular brand having been around for 11 years, although variations have been around since the 1970s. On their website they also advertise bedding, blankets, pet and home items. They are all about items being ‘comfortable, cosy and great value’.
The only downside I can say about this product is that it is made in China. I guess this helps keeps the price down. It is however logged as Oeko Tekstandard 100, meaning it’s been tested for harmful substances and deemed safe for human health and the environment, which is slightly more comforting. They also have nearly fourteen million customers worldwide and are number one in three bedding categories on Amazon, so a name trusted by many.
September seems way too early to be mentioning it, but if you’re already thinking about the celebration that comes along in December (sssshhhhh….) this would make a great gift.
I love the colour, the length and how soft and snuggly it is and I’m sure I will use it lots, making it a great addition to my house.
