Heior Botanical Serum & Lipbalm Review

I’m always on the lookout for good skincare. The older I get the more important it has become. So I was delighted to be sent a little package containing Heior Aurea Botanical serum for the face along with Heior’s Superfruit Lipbalm. Heior isn’t a brand that I had heard of before, so I was intrigued to give it a go. The items arrived in a lovely package and would make a gorgeous gift for someone as they are – no wrapping required! Of course, the lip balm went straight on. It smelt delicious and melted straight onto my lips. I’m one of those people who has a lip balm stashed away in every corner of the house and car and I have one in every coat pocket. It’s easy to tell very quickly if a lipbalm is truly moisturising. This one is a brilliant, it feels quite thick and buttery and stays on the lips for a while providing a moisturising barrier.

I chose to use the Aurea Botanical serum as part of my night time routine, it comes in a glass bottle with a handy pastette for easy application. I do love to put a serum on before bed knowing that it will sink into my skin and work its magic while I sleep. This serum smelt absolutely divine, Heior use aromatherapy as part of their formulations and you can definitely tell. There is something about the smell of those natural aromas that relax you but also give the product a really luxurious feel. You only need about 3 drops to cover your face and then I added a drop to my neck (not to be missed as you get older). The serum spreads really well and sinks in quickly. I found that in the morning, my skin felt really moisturised and I haven’t suffered from any dry patches since using it. The Heior brand appear to specialise in products for sensitive skin.

I love the ethos around the brand which, for me is just as important as the quality of the product. It’s great to use products that are made from natural ingredients and work alongside the body, to hydrate and nourish the skin. With the added bonus of the aromatherapy, it’s like a relaxation ritual before bed.

I think the products and the brand are brilliant and would make a really great present for anyone who loves their skincare. The packaging is different and unusual and it’s nice to find brands that aren’t mass produced name with questionable ingredients. The Heior website has a range of great products all reasonably priced that can be viewed here. The superfruit lipbalm can be purchased for £7.50 and would make a great stocking filler. The Aurea Botanical serum retails at £18.99 at https://www.heior.co.uk/product-page/heior-aurea-botanical-serum and would make a fabulous gift on its own or alongside the lipbalm for anyone who looks after their skin or likes trying new products. There are also a range of different lipbalms to choose from. I give both products 5/5 stars for their quality and the ethics of the brand. I will definitely be purchasing these once they run out, although I’m confident they will last while, giving extra value and I will happily be recommending Heior especially to those with sensitive skin.
