There is nothing better than packing up your bag for a trip away, an experience made even better with a great bag. So, I was more than willing to test out the Vango rucksack as I’m not someone who travels light so 40L sounded quite promising. The bag arrived really quickly and was well packaged. I was surprised by the size of the box, it seemed quite small and I wondered how such a substantial bag could be packed into such a compact box. I discovered that the bag folds up into a handy small holding bag for storage and was surprisingly big once opened up.

The bag feels really sturdy, yet lightweight and although didn’t seem too big it actually holds quite a large amount. I used it to attend a yoga class where I needed a big blanket, a couple of cushions, a fleecy jacket and a water bottle; it held these easily with space to spare. I was also able to carry it in a few ways, I could use the hand held straps, as a rucksack or over the shoulder. There are handy handles at each of the long ends of the bag, so easy to grab from any angle for quick movement. There is an option to padlock the zips if needed for extra security. You can also add in your details onto the label displayed on the top, or add on any chosen accessories which can be attached to the daisy chain straps at the side. The shoulder straps were tucked away discreetly in a side pocket of the bag and can clip on and off as needed. Inside there is a net pocket and a couple of side open pockets to separate items out if required. But mostly it a nice big space to fit lots of items in, that would work for me for a night or even weekend away.

The bag also looks good, in a navy blue colour and has a feel of quality about it. I can see it being used by all the family for various reasons, including trips away, sleepovers, camping and gym visits. Its hard-wearing and durable, it appears to be made of a waterproof material and is likely to last for years. Vango

The bag retails at £50 and can be purchased on the Vango website here.  The bag boasts so many great features, making it super-flexible. A big bonus is that it is cabin size, which is always reassuring when flying the dimensions are: L50.0 x H31.0 x W31.0cm. It would be easy to carry on public transport and to stow away on baggage racks or in a car boot. This is an investment and is the type of bag that would suit a frequent traveller or camper. It would make a great gift – one that really shows you care! For this I will give it 5/5 stars. It is a gift that will last, is adaptable, reliable and spacious.
