I was excited to try this product now that the colder nights are on the way, however, I am not quite ready to say hello to winter and turn my heating on yet, so this was perfect for those darker, chilly October nights.
The blanket arrived in brown packaging within a box and was vacuum packed into plastic, once opened it expanded. Straight away I was impressed with how soft and light weight the blanket was and I loved the dark grey colour. It also has a white fleece on the other side, so is great for matching with other furniture or rooms.
The plug to heat the blanket was positioned nicely in one corner and is easy to connect. I have had a similar product before and the plug very bulky and heavy. The lead is a nice length, not too long and not too short.
The instructions were simple to follow and explained how to use all the settings. The control panel was very easy to use with a clear display to tell you what setting you had selected. This heated blanket has 6 heat settings and it can also be pre heated and set on a timer for up to 10 hours.
The blanket has a middle panel that heats up to provide a pleasant, natural warmth, the blanket did not have any heat spikes or extra hot parts. It is super soft and does not shed like previous heated blankets I have used in the past. I found the temperature setting ‘4’ the best for me, as it was not too hot but was still comfortable to sit with all evening.
The blanket uses minimal electric and therefore is cheap to run. The typical power drawn is 40w to 120w which costs roughly between 1-3p per hour on a standard electric tariff, depending on the size and settings used. This blanket states that it is 120w and is certified by GS, CE, ROHS, and rigorously tested using 74 safety checks. I liked that this information was provided as I am a real worrier about things over heating, it also shuts off automatically after 8 hours without a timer set so is very reassuring.
It is also machine washable at 30 degrees with an easy detachable controller to ensure hygiene without the colour fading. I loved that even after machine washing, it didn’t lose its soft, fluffy texture.
The product is priced at £39.99 currently but is normally advertised on Amazon for £47.99, which I believe is a reasonable price. It comes in a variety of colours which vary in price depending on the colour but all are under £50.
I would recommend this blanket to anyone seeking comfort or looking for a cheaper way to stay warm this winter. I give it 5/5 rating, I have loved using it to ensure I stay cosy and warm when watching television in the evening. A total staple for those looming cold nights!
