This snackbox arrived packaged in an amazon envelope and then had a cardboard sleeve around the box. I really like the two tone colour affect and that its BPA Free. It’s microwave safe and Dishwasher safe which is always a bonus in a busy household.
B box was founded by two Australian mums who wanted to make it their goal to make products that made parents lives easier with fun colourful products. They now sell in 55 countries and make a variety of different products such as lunch boxes, snack pots, cups and insulated products.
I’m always looking for snacks boxes that are sturdy and work well for my teen and 4 year old. I have a few Bento boxes already. This one I thought would be perfect for my 4 year old as it has two Compartments which I are quite deep in size and hold a good amount.
The other advantage I liked is that it was fully waterproof and the silicone bit in the lid comes out for easy cleaning so I won’t get a build up of dirt and residue.
The box itself was made of a nice thick plastic and was easy to wash out although getting the silicone back into the lip so that it sealed wasn’t easy.
So we Road tested this for a few days, the first day we took it to the park, it fitted nicely in his little back pack and I filled it with some chopped fruit, crackers and some yogurt flakes.
The next day I tried some messier foods and did yogurt and orange and it didn’t leak so was pleased as I didn’t take a lunch box we just put this pot in his back pack.
When we got to the cafe my little one was keen to get it out and eat his fruit. He found it a bit tricky to open but this could have been because it was new. It was easy for him to access his snack, but we found it frustrating that the box kept falling over and wouldn’t stand up, so we propped it up against something.
The silicone bit pooped out and was tricky to get back meaning that it was no longer leak proof, but at this time he had eaten all his snack so I wiped it out with a napkin and put back in the bag.
My 4 year old loves it and although a bit fiddly getting the silicone back in, he has happily used it each time we have gone out, but I haven’t put messy products in again as I didn’t want to risk it and being at school all day I didn’t want to come home to a messy book bag, If he had pushed it out and it got put back in without the silicone being fitted in correctly.
The price was a bit steep at £9.99 for a snack pot and not sure I would pay that much for one this size.
I have used Bento boxes before and my daughter has the stackable one, this wasn’t the best one I had and although the 4 year old chooses it to use most days, I’m not sure I would recommend or buy another. I would rate this product 3/5- because of the faults we found with it.
The snack pots can be found in various retailers this one was from Amazon and can be found here.
