Bringing the Safari Even Closer!

Woburn Safari Park is thrilled to announce an exciting addition to its hugely popular park – the sea lion house ‘Sea Lion Cove’ re-opens at the end of July following a major refurbishment and now includes a brand new 3D Safari Cinema Experience.

This is the first time a safari park in the UK has combined a live action animal demonstration with cutting edge 3D cinema technology and brings an amazing new dimension to visitor entertainment at the park.

The brand new Sea Lion Cove cinema will be showcasing 3 live sea lion shows per day as well as daily screenings of ‘Safari Park Adventure 3D’, a series going behind the scenes with the animals and keepers of the park. Filmed on location for the Discovery Channel in 2011, the show was a huge success on Sky 3D and these short feature length episodes take you into the lives of Kai the rhino as he meets his new mates and right inside the lion house with the pride of African lions.

Audiences will also be treated to the fun musical entertainment of ‘DEEPO', a 3D movie about life under the sea and how humans have both a positive and negative effect on the world’s oceans.

Using state of the art Simworx 3D technology, this 320 seat, HD surround-sound cinema system puts the viewer right at the heart of the actionand staring straight into the eyes of an African lion!

Providing graphics so sharp, you’ll want to reach out and grab them, the Woburn Safari Park 3D Safari Cinema Experience knocks the socks off your usual local cinema trip, where the 3D effects are limited to only the first few rows.

“We hope that through the extraordinary advances in 3D technology we can offer families another great adventure with the wildlife, whilst also highlighting Woburn Safari Park’s commitment to education and conservation.” said Drew Mullin, General Manager.

The Woburn Safari Park 3D Safari Cinema Experience is a must for all animal lovers, young and old, book your tickets now!

Opened in 1970, Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire is one of the UK’s safari parks. With over 300 acres of beautiful parkland, visitors can drive through to visit animals including white rhino, elephants, lions, tigers, black bears, wolves, bison, giraffes, lemurs, zebras, camels, wallabies, penguins, four types of monkey and a range of antelope.

Established by the 13th Duke of Bedford on the grounds of his estate, Woburn Abbey, the park has a long history of species conservation dating back more than 100 years.
