Write Size Writing Pencils Review

I was asked to review these pencils and handwriting practice pad from Write Size, which were all in a cloth drawstring bag. The pencils are packaged in a clear packet which is reusable to store your pencils in.

The company’s ethos state: A range of pencils made to scale for children’s hands. Better control = better results.

Included were 3 packets of pencils:

2-6 years – Learn control and grip. RRP £3.99

6-10 years – Improve confidence and ability. RRP £3.99

10+ years – Deliver results and great handwriting. RRP £3.99

Alphabet and hand writing practice pad (2-6 years). RRP £5.99

The pencils were colour coded to make it easier to identify the correct age. I noted the pencils were not of standard length or size.

All three pencils were tested by the appropriate aged child. All three age groups reported how easy the pencils were to hold and use. As the pencils are wider they are easier to grip.

The alphabet and hand writing pad was clearly laid out and was printed on quality paper. My son who tested this including the 2-6 year pencils was very proud of himself with his writing. The alphabet was clear to trace and follow and gave you plenty of space to practice.

I was impressed with how easy my son who tested the 6-10 years wrote. He had previously struggled with holding traditional pencils and after spending a long time looking for a pencil which could support him I can safely say I have now found a tool which will no doubt support his school writing. This in turn made him more confident in his writing ability.

When using an eraser, the pencil rubbed away easy, leaving no marks behind. My daughter who was testing the 10+ was very happy with this as it made her school work present better.

Following reviewing these products I feel they are fantastic value for money. The pencils are made to a high standard and are very durable. I noticed they did not need sharpening as often and the led did not snap.

I feel colour coding the pencils was a simple yet effective way of ensuring the correct age appropriate pencil was being used.
