So, it’s that time of year when a lot of us feel like a loaf of crusty tiger bread. Dry skin, lips and hair.

This usually means needing body lotion, lip balms hair masks…..except now there’s a versatile product that can do it all; the all purpose, natural, Korean beauty Wonderbalm.

Launched in 2024, the multipurpose balm offers intense hydration, perfect for those rough patches, cracked skin and chapped lips. It is so easy to apply and feels buttery soft. A little goes a long way (making it cost effective) and when used sparingly, provides amazing moisture without feeling greasy.

Wonderbalm was created by David Herdman. He and his mother were suffering from cracked, dry skin and he set about creating this amazing product. Knowing it was created by someone who has genuine skin issues makes it all the better as you know it’s been made for a genuine purpose, rather than it just being another churned out beauty product.

And just when you think it couldn’t get any more perfect, the balm is vegan and contains lots of the good stuff such as shea butter, olive oil, and vitamin E. No nasties – making it great for sensitive skin.

Personally, I’ve mainly used this on my lips and face. I’ve used it in the evening to help remove make up, I’ve also used it in the morning in place of a normal moisturiser. It is worth noting that this works for me as I have dry skin – this approach may not work for all skin types but it’s definitely worth a go for the price point. And if it doesn’t work for your face – it can still be used in many other ways so won’t be wasted.

I have found that my makeup sits lovely on top of it if you give it time to sink into the skin.

It’s also great for no make up days as it gives your skin that glass glow. When applying to my face, I just wipe the excess over my lips and it’s helped keep them soft in this colder weather we are having.

My son recently had a cold, so I also used it on his lips and around his nose as it was quite irritated from blowing and wiping! He said he liked the smell and that it stopped his skin from stinging – so it’s even a hit for 7 year old boys, proving just how versatile it really is!

I get my nails done every few weeks and the nail girls have commented on how well I’m looking after my cuticles, literally all I’ve done is start dabbing the Wonderbalm on them as and when I use it on my face.

The packaging is minimal, which is what most people seem to go for nowadays. The pots make it so easy to slip into your make up bag, or to take away on holiday instead of having to take multiple products.

Although it can be used on hair, I found it wouldn’t be cost effective for how much hair I have. It might be good if you have a dry fringe for example and only need to use it on a small section, but other than that I do think a hair mask/conditioner would work better. But again, it’s all down to personal preference. Same for the body – I wouldn’t use it as a full body moisturiser, I think it’s better suited for problem areas (such as elbows, knees, dried up spots etc)

Overall I was really impressed with this product. I found it worked, was cost effective and could replace a number of products I’d usually buy.

It really gave Elemis pro collegian vibes but for a fraction of the price. Similar texture and scent – spa like almost.

For the price, this would make a great stocking filler/Christmas gift, it’s certainly something I wouldn’t mind receiving!
