I have been struggling with facial hair for a few years now and I have to say that it can really knock my confidence. Over the years I have tried shaving, a hair removal device as well as having the hair removed at a beauty salon using waxing or threading. Shaving isn’t the most ideal option for me as I seem to end up bleeding where I catch myself with the razor. Time is a precious community with how hectic my life circumstances are, so I was on the look out for a hair removal device that I could use at home.
One of my 2022 goals is to go on a journey towards a more confident me. This Magnitone Dermaqueen device couldn’t have come around at a more perfect time. I snapped up the opportunity of reviewing it. The product arrived quickly in perfect condition. I was delighted to see that minimal packaging had been used The box is a handy size and looks stunning. There was even a handy sticker on the plastic part of the packaging which says ‘Watch out it’s sharp!’ I couldn’t wait to get started, so I carefully unpacked all of the contents:
Device
USB Lead
Instructions booklet
Desktop charging stand
Set of 5 replacement blades
Warranty registration card
I had a good look at the device whilst putting it on charge. It looks pink and has elegant rose gold trim running up both sides of the device. The button you press to use it is rose gold too. The device also has a handy plastic cover which you can easily take off and put back over the blade. The USB lead plugs into the device. There is a handy white desktop charging stand which you can place the device into. I think that the colour of this stand and the colours of the beauty device itself really complement each other. After a few hours on charge I decided to give my new beauty device a try. I found the instructions easy to follow. I decided to tackle the facial hair on my chin and neck. Pushing the power button once put the device onto the least powerful setting, pushing the button a 2nd time puts in onto the next setting, a 3rd push the next and a 4th push turns the device off. I started off using the lowest setting but did then feel confident enough to increase the setting used. The product did a really good job at removing the hair. The product is comfortable to hold. The instructions booklet said to remove makeup and cleanse first. I do not tend to wear make up that often, so had none on to remove. The process of fitting and removing blades from the device is really quick and easy. The instructions booklet helpfully explains which angle to use the device at… at a 45 degree angle to your skin. I did stretch my skin whilst using the device.
The instructions book mentions to not press hard, to avoid going over the same area multiple times and helpfully gives information on how to dispose of the single use blade point as well as mentioning that no more than 2 treatments per head is recommended. The instructions booklet also advises cleaning with a dry cloth after each use. I have only had this product for 1 week so it is early days. That said, I think that my skin does feel better/smoother. I was amazed to read on the box that the device works by using Vibra-Sonic™ technology and dermaplaning. I would agree with what it says on the box about removing facial fuzz. The device is so light and portable and I wouldn’t hesitate to take it away on holiday etc.
I had a bit of a look at the Magnitone website and they seem to have a really good range of products available. I would consider purchasing one or more of them in the future. I would recommend Magnitone in general to others and I am so pleased with the product I received to review. I can see it being part of my new beauty regime for a long time.
