What’s love got to do with it Tina Turner tribute, this was showing at the Lighthouse, which is 10 minutes away, its situated in the town of Poole and there is plenty of parking around the area, I parked just across the road in a car park, parking was £4 for the evening.
We arrived just before 7 and went to the box office to get our tickets, the staff were friendly and helpful and asked if we needed anything to let them know and told us which part of the Lighthouse the show would be performed in.
We went to the bar to get some pre show drinks, before heading into the theatre, we were in the concert hall this evening, all the seating was on the same level with each row on a tier so you could see the further back you went. Our tickets were P 39 and 40, we had fab view of the stage. I always find the lighthouse has plenty of leg room and space to stand up and dance which is great.
I love Tina Turner. I recently went to see her show in the west end, with my friend who accompanied me tonight. We didn’t think this would compare to that, but wow what a treat with an incredible atmosphere throughout the show it was electric. From the lightning, to the sound of the 10 piece band on the stage. I lost count of the costume changes, there were so many but each time they came out they looked fabulous.
We were completely blown away, Holly Bannis who played Tina tonight, she had the most amazing vocals , so crisp and clear. She was recently on ITV’S star struck as Whitney Houston, he comes from a musical background her dad was the lead singer of Hot Chocolate Greg Bannis.
The audience were up on their feet from the moment the show started and dancing in aisles. Her backing dancers were fantastic and even when they were dancing fast and singing at the same time it was so clear and impeccable timing throughout the performance. Each backing singer and dancer got their chance to shine and wow did they deliver with stunning vocals and sensational dancing. The live band were amazing and played with such enthusiasm.
What a party from start to finish to a legend in the sky, Holly Bannis does her proud, she engaged the audience all the way through with plenty of opportunity to join in and sing along even having some fun and doing some singing competitions around the concert hall..
By the end of the show the whole place came alive and every member of the audience young and old were up singing and dancing along to the last few tracks.
Rating: I would Rate this a 5 out 5 and it is definitely worth seeing.
Tina is only at the lighthouse for night but is touring the country until December and is well worth seeing if you are at a theatre where it is showing. Tickets can be booked here. tickets vary in price starting from £28.50 depending on the area.
