Waresley Park Estate Products Review

I was delighted to be asked to review some products from Waresley Park Estate for the WGTD Mother’s Day Gift Guide. I always find it difficult to choose new and different gifts for my mum, so this was very welcome.

I’d never heard of Waresley Park before, so headed to the website (https://waresleyparkestate.co.uk/) to find out more and discovered that Waresley Park Estate is located in the Cambridgeshire countryside, offering 120 acres including places to stay, a spa and a wild swimming lake. There is also an onsite coffee shop and if you live nearby, they also offer a wonderful sounding Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, which can be enjoyed in the long room (and is bookable online). Sadly I don’t live near Waresley Park, however they also offer an online shop where you can buy products from the estate by mail order. These range from gin to spa products, to honey and coffee beans. There are also products for plant care and barbecues.

When I received my package from Waresley Park, which was sent very quickly after I ordered, I was immediately impressed by the quality of the packaging. The items came in a very sturdy cardboard box with a carry handle so straightaway looked high quality. Inside the box was a 50cl bottle of Walled Garden Raspberry Gin and a 200g packet of Bean Theory Coffee Beans. These were packed carefully with pale green tissue paper, and some additional bubble wrap around the bottle of gin. Everything arrived intact along with a leaflet outlining what products I had received and looked very appealing.

The Walled Garden raspberry gin was in a very pretty bottle printed with pink images of raspberries and juniper and coordinating writing. There was also a wooden topped cork making the overall product very attractive. The gin is handmade in small batches exclusively for the Waresley Park Estate, using the flavours of raspberries to add sweetness. I’m not a gin drinker, however I shared this with my friend who is a bit of a gin connoisseur, and she said that it was very nice with a lovely light fruity taste. It would be a perfect drink for summer evenings. From the website I can see that the Walled Garden gin is also available as traditional gin, for those who would prefer this to raspberry.

The Bean Theory Blend coffee beans came in a quality resealable packet, with a brightly coloured image (which I assume depicts the Waresley Park estate). The Bean Theory Blend is a combination of coffee beans from Central and South America and is roasted at the Waresley Park Estate in small batches. This is also the house coffee that is served in the coffee shop onsite. The packet tells me that the coffee has notes of chocolate, fruit and floral. I’m not an expert on coffee-tasting but it did make a lovely cup of coffee, a good strength and a lovely aroma. I received a 200g bag of beans which costs £9 to buy as a one-off purchase. There is also the option to subscribe for a monthly delivery at £7.65 per month. There is a selection of different coffee beans to choose from (including decaffeinated) on the website.

Overall this set would make a wonderful Mother’s Day gift, the products are very high quality and tasty and are something that my mum would not think of buying for herself. The packaging made them extra special. The online shop is a great opportunity to buy products from the Waresley Park Estate, especially if you don’t live locally. The postage of £5.99 for orders under £100 (free for orders over £100) is also very reasonable with delivery within 2-4 days.
