Back in the days before mobile phones people used to take photographs on their cameras and get then printed out, I think almost every home had a box full of old photographs. I used to love going through our “old photo” box seeing pictures of my parents as children, teenagers and at their wedding also pictures of me as a child and even pictures of older family members who I only got to meet through a photograph.

I have often thought what will happen to all the images we now have stored on our devices, if they disappear that is all our memories and social history gone.

That is why I love Vistaprint and the products they produce so much, I am no technical expert but found it very easy to use their site, we recently took our granddaughter on a special holiday, she’s only five and to help her remember the trip as she gets older I have been able to get some of the images transferred into permanent items.

I made a 24 page photo book, choosing the best images from my phone and adding captions, the images are automatically enhanced if needed and you will be alerted if any images are not up to the standard needed to make the best product. Once you’ve set up an account you can save your creation as you go along and come back and change it whenever you want, making sure you are happy with it before you put it in your basket to buy.

There are lots of options to customise the book, my advice here is take your time to make sure you get the finished product exactly as you want it, there’s lots of help available on the website. I also made a cushion which has an image on both sides , available in three sizes I ordered the smallest which is a perfect size to go on a child’s bed, my third product was a heat sensitive mug it is completely black until filled with hot liquid and then it reveals an image that is a lovely reminder of our holiday, I was really pleased with all the products the quality is very good and the images are sharp and colours were true to the image I had downloaded, I placed my order on Monday and received it on Saturday I thought that was a very quick turn around for such a bespoke product.
