Vileda 1-2 Spray Mop System Review

The 1-2 Spray Mop System is one of the many products from Vileda to help make housework a little less onerous! It arrived with cardboard packaging over the mop head. The head was a little hard to attach but once I realised I wasn’t going to break it forcing it in, we were almost good to go, the final step was to fill the tank which runs the full length of the handle, with either water or floor cleaner.

The 1-2 spray mop has been tested and found to remove 99% of bacteria from hard floors such as wood and tiles using only water. The microfibre mop head is highly absorbent and absorbs the germs along with the sprayed liquid leaving floors clean and fairly dry.

The flat mop head has a washable cloth cover- it can be washed up to 200 times at 60 degrees so it is will last a while before needing replaced! I feel it would be handy if it came with two so you could still use it while the other was being washed.

The mop is lightweight and easy to use, the swivel head lets you get into any awkward spots to clean up. As you don’t need water or a mop bucket it is super convenient and quick to use. The tank holds 275ml of liquid and is quick and straight forward to fill via the lid at the top of the handle. The lid is attached so no chance of losing it!

I would definitely say the mop has been a hit in our house with the kids willing to pitch in and help clean the floors, certainly a bit of a novelty factor but the easy of use and not needing to fill a mop bucket of water has helped!
I like it, I find it handy to do the in between cleans or if something has been spilled. As we have a large area of tiles and wood flooring and having only one mop head it feels like it gets to the point where the mop head starts to get dirty then I’m spreading germ back around the house rather than cleaning the floors.

Priced at £26.99 is quite expensive for a mop but you are paying for the convenience of the 1-2 Spray Mop and I feel I use less cleaner and certainly waste less as I always end up making up a mop bucket to clean the mop in, even if it is just for a small area or spill. Ultimately reducing the waste has a knock on positive environmental impact as well- less water waste, less plastic packaging.

Using the washable mop head has also reduce my use of single use wipes for cleaning up spills which is another positive!
