Trash by Andy Mulligan Review

Trash is the tale of three friends working as dumpsite boys in the slums. They sift through mountains of rubbish in the hope of finding valuable items which they can exchange for cash or food. The three friends Raphael, Gardo and Rat find something valuable and then the adventure, suspense and running starts.

This is a feel good story about friendship, hope and adventure; it is well written and you can truly picture the dumpsite boys working amongst the trash that the city throws out. I thought that the detail given in the book describing the scenes, the characters and the dumpsite was exceptional; it was very easy to imagine these boys and the life which surrounded them.

I felt that there was a slow build up to the excitement and adventure which unfolds but ultimately that is what makes it so captivating. I feel that the price of £6.99 is reasonable and I would recommend this delightful feel good book to any teenager who loves an adventure.
