There’s a Monster in Your Show at Lighthouse Poole Preview

GUEST FOR THE PURPOSES OF WRITING THIS PREVIEW AND THE SUBSEQUENT REVIEW

Previewed by Lisa

Tom Fletcher, the writer of the ‘Who’s in your book?’ series, is a successful and bestselling children’s author as well as being a member of the pop-rock band McFly. ‘There’s a Monster in Your Book’, the inspiration for this play, was the first book that he wrote. The books are a treasure trove of enchanting stories for young children in which whimsical characters come to life.

The adaptation of the book into a musical play sees Little Monster puppet joined on stage by his friends, Dragon, Alien and Unicorn so there is bound to be a character to appeal to every young child in the audience. The show is aimed at children between the ages of 2 and 6 years old and, for most, this will be their first outing to a theatre to see a live performance.

The show promises to be full of catchy songs and groovy dancing and the audience will be encouraged to join in with singing and clapping along so parents do not need to be concerned about trying to keep their child in their seat and sitting quietly! This magical show, which lasts about 50 minutes, has a valuable message about friendship alongside all the fun and chaos.

Lighthouse Poole has a café and bar for pre-theatre dining and there are several car parks nearby.

My children have all enjoyed reading the ‘Who’s in your Book’ series so I am eagerly anticipating my 4 year old’s reaction to seeing the characters come to life on stage.
