at University Campus Oldham
Two of Oldham Coliseum Theatre’s education groups DigiLAB and TheatreLAB will be performing their latest production – The Individualists – at University Campus Oldham next Wednesday 9 November.
The production explores the new starts, new friends and unwanted challenges that come hand in hand with starting a new school. Feeling lost in a crowd of uniforms, how do you make sure you stand out? Walk into an evening with The Individualists who have the ideas and thoughts to help you get that bit closer to things set you apart.
The Individualistshas been produced as part of the third year of the BIG Lottery project which aims to improve the young people’s drama and technical theatre skills, while promoting and investigating social and cultural themes. Other shows produced as part of this project include: Strictly Come Culture, Heaven Spot and Totally Over You.
The show’s technical elements are being produced by DigiLAB which is a group that works specifically on the technical side of theatre, operating digital projection and sound throughout the show. Ex-DigiLAB members have been working at the venue using what they learnt during their time in the group to introduce new members to lighting, sound and stage management.
The show is set in three rooms with one main performance space and two spaces for alternative endings and the audience will choose where to finish their experience in.
DigiLAB Facilitator Paul Adams said:
“This type of theatre is great development to get the group thinking about alternative ways of producing theatre, particularly with a large scale performance installation planned next year.”
Date: Wednesday 9 November
Three separate performances: 7:00pm, 7:45pm and 8:30pm.
