The Farmhouse Beefeater Crewe Review

The Farmhouse Beefeater

The Farmhouse Beefeater is located on the outskirts of Crewe next to a large Premier Inn. The carpark has plenty of spaces and there is a large outdoor area to eat at during the summer months.

On entering we were shown to our table of two in the main restaurant which is decorated in dark woods and dark carpets giving it a cosy comfy effect, however I was disappointed at how close we were to all the other dinners and did feel a little crammed in. The atmosphere was good and what you would expect from a Beefeater with plenty of families and a bit of hustle and bustle.

We were introduced to our server Chris by the host who took our drinks order and gave us a moment to look through the menu. I was put off by him telling us that three of the main items on the menu were no longer available this is one of my pet hates for restaurants, it  was a weekend and therefore they should have anticipated being busy.

We opted for a shared platter to start consisting of calamari, paprika chicken, garlic and herb mushrooms, spicy buffalo wings with blue cheese, ranch and bbq dips. In particular I enjoyed the paprika chicken, but for me the buffalo wings were far too spicy and actually ruined the taste of anything I had after them. For the main meal I had chargrilled chicken breast with bourbon ribs, fries and a side salad. The portion sizes were very generous and the ribs were cooked perfectly. I was also impressed at the speed of service considering the restaurant was quiet busy we didn’t have to wait at all. For desert we opted for the blueberry cheese cake and chocolate brownie with ice-cream, again the portions were generous and I was pleased when it was whippy ice cream and not just scooped from a tub.

Overall the service was excellent and the food generous and presented well. That being said it isn’t the most amazing place I have ever eaten but I would certainly go back with friends and family if I wanted a pleasant evening out for little money.
