The Three Little Magicians by Georgie Adams Review

Reviewed by Lorraine Knight

I was asked to review this Early Reader Book (Red Level) which I knew my son would be excited about because we often hire Early Reader books from our local library.

We settled comfortably in bed and took turns reading a page each. These books are perfectly aimed at children confident enough to read on their own but also great to share because I enjoy hearing him read with confidence and expression. The colour illustrations really bring the story to life.

There are 7 chapters in this book so you could read it over a few nights but at the end of each chapter the story is so exciting you really want to continue to find out what happens next.

This particular story is about 3 children Miranda, Maisy and Max who are Magicians and live together in a house called Hey Presto! They are convinced to enter The Best Magic Show by their neighbour Mr Marzipan; a very old clever magician who has become ill which he thinks has been caused by the evil magician his arch-rival Zigzag!

The story takes you on an adventure with a magic carpet escapade, an evil magician doing spells to prevent The Three Little Magicians from entering the competition, and the finale in the Crystal Castle.

Will Miranda, Maisy and Max be able to avoid Zigzag and win the competition…..

My son enjoyed reading this book and found it held his interest all the way through. Half way through and we both wanted to know how it ended.

I would definitely recommend this book and I particular like the pages at the back of these books that show other titles in the red Early Readers with illustrations which encourages my son to go in search of his next read.
