There seems to be quite a fashion these days for subscriptions to meal boxes, but The Spice Pioneer do it slightly differently. Each month you receive a themed box of spices and flavours along with a recipe card giving you the means to create wonderful dishes.
You can subscribe monthly or what about treating someone to a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription as a gift? It would be a fantastic Christmas gift to a student who’s just left home or for someone who loves to host dinner parties and maybe for someone who just needs some inspiration to create different meals.
I received two boxes;
An Italian one with Ground Bay Leaves, Rosemary, Smoked Sea Salt, Sun Dried Tomato Powder, Chicken Stock Powder, Saffron Threads, Juniper Berries and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The recipe card gave me the instructions to make a delicious three course meal; Risotto alla Milanese (Saffron Risotto), Pollo alla Cacciatora (Hunter’s Chicken), Gelato con Olio e Sale (Ice Cream with Olive Oil and Sea Salt).
And a Tex Mex themed one with Fajita Spice Mix, Five Seed Mix, Chipotle Chillies Crushed, Mexican Oregano, Cumin Roasted & Ground, Rosemary & Ancho Ground, Nutmeg Ground, Epazote Leaves. This all helps to make: Blue Cheese stuffed Mushrooms with five seed mix, Beef burrito with Mexican rice and chipotle soured cream and Pecan Pie.
What’s great about the recipe cards is there’s a shopping list to take to the shops and the steps are written down for the whole meal meaning the timing is correct for getting three dishes on the table. They even have a playlist on their website to set the atmosphere to match!
The kits are simply and securely packaged in letterbox friendly slimline boxes. They even come with a postcard from the featured area and a letter from The Spice Pioneer himself!
So, if you’re after a different Christmas gift for a love one. Look no further. For just £27 you can give someone a 3 month’s subscription which they’ll still be enjoying well into Spring!
Price: £27 (3 months) / £52.50 (6 months) / £99 (12 months)
