My mummy and me have just been to see a show at the Lowry Theatre in Salford called The Queen’s Knickers.
I was very excited when my mummy told me we would be watching this show. I kept asking why it was called that and are we really going to see the Queen’s knickers?
When we got there the show was just about to start, so we had to run to our seats (Daddy was taking a long time getting ready). Daddy dropped us just outside the theatre and went off to park the car, however it was very busy as a football match was being played nearby.
The show was performed in the studio, where we have never seen a show before, so lots of helpful ladies helped us find our way there and showed us to our seats.
The show was about an eccentric Queen who loved to have lots of knickers, she had frilly knickers, spotty knickers and even elephant knickers. She was going to visit all of the schools in Great Britain when her trunk of underwear went missing. She and her trusty maid Dilys went on a mission to find the knickers. They sent the police, helicopters and even the Queen’s corgis out to find them. The actors interacted with the audience by coming out with the corgis to see if the Queen’s knickers were hiding anywhere. The children loved this and there were giggles all around.
I really liked the set, which was the Queen’s bedroom; it was very bright and colourful and had her knickers hanging everywhere.
The show, based on the book by Nicholas Allen lasted for 45 minutes, which was perfect for the age group watching. I would suggest that this show is ideal for children age 3-6 years.
My mummy and me really enjoyed this show it was very silly.
