Frankie & Benny’s, Trafford Centre Manchester Review

Family Sunday Lunch
One Sunday lunchtime we decided to go for a family meal and decided on Frankie & Benny’s in the Trafford Centre, Manchester. We parked close to the restaurant in the Orient car park. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were greeted by a lovely member of staff and shown to a comfortable booth. We had our drinks order taken and our drinks came soon afterwards. Nothing was too much trouble for our waitress.

We were then left a short time to look over the varied menu. My daughter (9) had her own kid’s meal of chicken, chips and beans. My 2½ year old twins shared spaghetti bolognaise and a pot of beans. At £3.95 the children’s meals are excellent value! I opted for steak and fries with a side order of corn on the cob. My partner ordered an all-day breakfast. The children could add on a starter to their meal for £1 and so opted for dough balls. I chose dough sticks with garlic butter.

Our starters arrived quickly and didn’t last long. We all found them hot and tasty. Our mains arrived quickly too. The boys gobbled down their spaghetti bolognaise and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her meal too. My partner said his breakfast was great. It was a generous portion size. The waitress was happy to let our twins share a meal and to leave some items off of my partner’s main course which he doesn’t like. My steak was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. I was delighted to be asked whether I want sauce for the steak as I sometimes forget. The chips were hot and tasty.

I popped to the toilet during our meal and was pleased to find it in a clean and tidy condition. Value for money wise, the children’s meals were excellent value for money both price and portion size wise. The all-day breakfast was a bargain at £5.00. My steak was just over £12.00. The bill came to just over £40 for a family of 5 to have Sunday lunch. While we were in the restaurant, it became apparent that several customers were there celebrating special occasions. They were really made a fuss of by the staff.

Midweek Lunch – Lunch deal
I have also eaten at Frankie & Benny’s on a weekday lunchtime when a special lunchtime menu is running. I had a starter and main course off of the lunchtime menu. The main was £6.95 with an additional charge of £2 for the starter. My starter choice was dough sticks with garlic butter dip and my main was penne pasta carbonara. The waitress noticed that my drink of water was running low and offered to fetch me another one. Service was quick and the food tasted amazing.

Overall I would recommend Frankie & Benny’s for a romantic meal, family meal, lunch with friends or other special occasion. Staff were wonderful on both occasions, the restaurant is immaculate and the food just out of this world.

The food, service, value for money, cleanliness and atmosphere of the restaurant cannot be faulted.
