I received a Scootaheadz Pretty Pearl to review. I’d never heard of Scootaheadz before but a cute character to bling up my 4 year old daughters scooter sounded good to me. She loves unicorns and pink so the Pretty Pearl was a perfect choice for her. She has owned her scooter for around a year, which has been plenty of time for the novelty of it to wear off so I was looking forward to see what the Scootaheadz could add to it.
Immediately I loved it because it didn’t take 3 hours and a multitude of tools to be able to open the plastic packaging, which is incredibly rare these days! The concept is very simple – a character that adds decoration to your child’s scooter. I wasn’t sure at first whether it would fit over the very padded handlebars of our scooter but following the very clear instructions on the back of the bright packaging made it childsplay to attach and no tools are required – simply widen the gap and push it onto the T-bar handle.
The Scootaheadz itself feels very robust and is thick but flexible. It certainly won’t suffer from being dropped or rammed into various trees (a skill my daughter is excellent at when riding her scooter). It is waterproof, easy to clean by simply wiping down and has very vibrant colours.
When my daughter saw her new scooter accessory she squealed and immediately hopped onto her scooter for her new friend to take her on an adventure.
If a unicorn isn’t your kids thing then there are other characters to choose from such as Danny Dino, Timmy T-Rex, Surfing Sammy, or a choice of 3 ponies – Pippa, Lovely Lola or Cheeky Charlie.
In summary we love our Scootaheadz. It’s hassle free for the grown up and adds a new dimension of imaginative play to a much loved toy for the child. It would be lovely in future to maybe see licensed characters or even a Scootaheadz that lights up or makes a noise.
