I volunteered myself to review Madame F Prosecco, not because I am by any means a wine connoisseur, but because fizz of any sort, Prosecco or Champagne is my very favourite drink.  Some may say I am an expert of sorts seeing as I have tried so many different brands!

The wine arrived by post in a very sturdy wine box packaging, it had multiple layers which ensured the bottle arrived intact with its contents, so I would be happy to order online direct, knowing my wine would arrive safely inside the bottle and not all over the packaging.  Good start I thought.

The bottle itself has a lovely smart label, and a nice bright read wrapping over the cork.  The Prosecco is branded as a brave original fizz, more about that later.  It’s an extra dry Prosecco, 11% volume made in Italy.  If you drank the bottle (why wouldn’t you!) it would be 8.3 UK units.  When I popped the cork, it made a lovely loud pop, my personal opinion is a loud pop is a good sign, and I wasn’t wrong.  The Prosecco itself is pale, also for me a good sign, and I have to say tastes wonderful.  It’s not too dry, and not too sweet.  Kinda just where I like my Prosecco to be.  I think from the first sip, you know if a wine is going to offend your palate, and this definitely does not.

The brand itself has an interesting background, if you use the QR code on the label on the back of the bottle you go direct to the Madame F website.  Madame F Prosecco is a creative collaboration with LGBTQ+ charity Queer Britain, which itself is a charity which supports the first LGBTQ+ museum which is in Kings Cross London.  The label on the bottle proclaims ‘loud and proud? Who … me?’  Which made me smile for a variety of reasons.  It’s nice to know that a bottle of wine you have treated yourself to is doing some good in the background, how many bottles can you actually say that about?  I think it’s amazing to think that someone wants to do good in this way, so bravo Madame F.  The Madame F Prosecco is currently available at Sainsbury’s, but I am sure if this picks up a following other supermarkets will follow suit and pop this lovely fizz on their shelves.  They certainly should make a space, as I think it will prove very popular based on taste alone.  There is also a Madame F Rose blend wine available at Ocado and Sainsbury’s, a Madam F Blanc white blend, available at Ocado and a Madam F Rouge red blend also available at Ocado.

I really hope this brand takes off, not least because the Prosecco is gorgeous, but for what it represents and supports. Do many brands have such a back story, I don’t know, but now I have found it I most definitely will be sharing with friends, although my friends may tell you I never share fizz.. treat yourself or a loved one for Christmas, would make a great gift for anyone you love in your life.
