I am always looking for the perfect beauty products and conditioners are no exception, a lot of hair products leave my hair feeling flat and lank so I was keen to try the Biovene pink heaven conditioning bar.
My initial impression of the product was great, I am always looking for ways to reduce waste and be more environmentally friendly which is why the conditioner bar was so appealing. Instead of the usual plastic bottle, the small bar comes in a cardboard box, easy to pop straight in the recycling and zero waste. My conscience could rest easy knowing these bars are vegetarian, PH balanced, with no plastics, sulphites or palm oil.
The bar is lightly scented with a subtle scent of Shea butter and vanilla, the bar also contains lavender and grapefruit essential oils but my nose could not detect these, the small white bar is etched with the Biovene logo. So far so good, now to put it to the test.
After using my wash with my usual shampoo, I wet the bar under the shower and rubbed it over my hair as instructed and left for a few minutes to get to work, I could feel that it had smoothed and detangled as I rinsed.
It’s worth noting you need to be careful where to store your conditioner bar it’s no good leaving it in the shower area as it will wash away, if left somewhere to dry, Biovene state that the bar will last for the equivalent of 1 1/2 bottles of conditioner, making the bar excellent value.
Once my hair dried it did not feel as shiny or nourished as it has using other conditioners but I could brush through my hair easily, it was not greasy or flat which it can be with some products, but I would say if you have dry hair this may not quite be moisturising enough for you.
I do generally prefer a more highly fragranced product as on my dried hair I could not smell the conditioner at all, but this wouldn’t put me off using the bar again though.
Biovene conditioner and shampoo bars are available in different fragrances, Argan oil and mint, Biotin and Apple cider, Coconut and Keratin and Citrus dream, I would be keen to give them a try to see how they vary.
On viewing the website I love how Biovene have thought to make the shampoo bars a different colour to the conditioner bars as otherwise these could easily be mixed up,
Overall the Biovene Pink Heaven conditioner bar is a no frills/ no nonsense conditioner, there has clearly been a lot of thought go into this product and it’s packaging and as long as your hair does not need a more substantial treatment, I would say this is a good substitute from standard bottles of liquid conditioner. A great and simple step to take in being more environmentally friendly at home. The conditioner bar retails at £5.99, which isn’t bad value at all when considering the amount of washes the tiny bar provides.
