Almost everyone loves crisps, that perfect savoury snack which ticks so many boxes. Crunch, flavour, they go with pretty much everything from sandwiches to a pint. I am a huge lover of crisps myself so was really pleased to be trying these. I had never heard of the company prior to this review but now, I will be recommending them to everyone having an event and those who love really good quality snacks.

The Two Farmers company were winners of the Great Taste awards in 2019 and 2020, and I can see why!
The potatoes are all grown on their farm local to Herefordshire. So this product is grown, processed and packaged in the UK which is fantastic and earns them instant brownie points with me. Their farm also used renewable energy. It is a product born of passion. Passion for the environment, and passion for the perfect crisp. Flavours are inspired locally and potatoes stored on site to cut down on those pesky miles which up carbon footprints.

I was sent a lovely looking tin. Bright and modern with very simple and easy to read information. Nothing cluttered or over the top. The tins come in six different flavours, we were sent the Woodland Mushroom and Wild Garlic. Wow, they smelled amazing and tasted even better. They’re light and crunchy with a good amount of flavour. My new favourite crisps! At first I was a little worried as I have just been diagnosed with coeliac disease, imagine how happy I was when I saw that they were not only contain no artificial flavours colours or preservatives but they’re gluten free too!

The tin I received in the post is a huge 500g. Which doesn’t sound a lot but when you compare it with normal sharing bags it’s big! It lasted the five of us all week. Partly because there were so many crisps inside, and partly because I wanted to see how well the crisps lasted being opened several times over the week. Keeping them this long was a challenge as they’re incredibly moor-ish and addictive. I wanted to eat them all at once.
The tin is also fully recyclable. (It was posted with completely recyclable materials too). At first the tin was little hard to open, just like a paint tin but I used a butter knife and it came open fine. Once opened the once, the lid can be easily put back on and taken off again. This kept the crisps lovely and fresh over the week it took us to eat them! They didn’t go soggy or lose their flavour at all which was amazing.

After browsing their website I discovered that they also sell boxes of 25 x 40g packs, which are packaged in plastic free, fully compostable packets. At £25.99 a box this does push them up to the more pricey, premium crisps bracket however they really are worth it. They can hold well in this market with their ethics and eco friendly packaging. Let’s face it, normal crisp packets aren’t great for the environment and are hard to be recycled, but these can be popped into the compost! I think that’s fantastic.

They also stock 150g share bags in all six flavours, sold in boxes of 12 and available on subscription for a discount.

I think this would make a fabulous foodie Christmas gift, or addition to a hamper! Especially those who are harder to buy for but enjoy good snacks.

The 500g tins are available here  for £30 for two tins. I feel this is quite steep for every day however for special occasions, foodies, gifts and parties they will be a clear winner! They’re also gluten free which means they sit in another market too! I will certainly be buying more of these for events on the run up to Christmas and New Year. They outrank the premium brands I have tried so far in terms of flavour and freshness. Plus, I love their ethics.

Rating: I give them 5 out of 5 stars! They hit every button and even though they are on the more pricy side, they are superb so worth it in my opinion.
