Alice Through The Looking Glass Review

Alice Through The Looking Glass

Starring: Kate Beckinsale, Ian Holm, Steve Coogan and Geoffrey Palmer

Alice Through The Looking Glass is a live–action adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale.

Alice returns to the strange world of Wonderland where she joins the Red Queen in a giant game of chess and once again encounters all the weird and wonderful characters: the odd-ball twins Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the White Queen, the Red and White Knights, Humpty Dumpty, and the scary Jabberwocky. As she continues her adventures things become curiouser and curiouser.

Lewis (Age 10): I enjoyed watching this film. I liked the bit where Alice went through the looking glass and I liked the journey she took to become a queen. The best part of the film was when the silver knight kept falling off his horse as this made me laugh.  It was a fun film to watch and I would definitely watch it again it was amazing.

It was a lot better than I thought it would be.

Rating: 5 out of 5

Nikki (Lewis' Mum): I found it hard to follow and confusing at times. I think it would appeal to older children, age 9+ who are able to concentrate for longer as it is quite deep at times and I didn't feel it had a set storyline you could follow. It is definitely not a film for younger children.

I was expecting it to be quite upbeat and fun, some parts of the film were funny but it was a little disappointing and overall and not magical like Alice In Wonderland is.

It is not my kind of film but my 10 year old son loved it and said he would definitely watch it again. The actors played their parts well, and there were some well known actors/actresses in it.
